Legion Y34w debuts to bring a new 165Hz mini

Mar 15, 2024

Lenovo's line in 165Hz miniLED displays have hit a new market in the form of the Legion Y34w. As the name suggests, it is a 34-inch wide-angle monitor rated for all a gamer might expect in terms of high-speed, high-end image reproduction in 2023.

They include coverage of the DCI-P3 and sRGB color gamuts, with a delta-E value of less than 2. These specs may be enhanced by HDR1000 support and a ~2 millisecond (ms) gray-to-gray response time via AMD FreeSync. The Y34w has dual type-C ports to go with its dual HDMI 2.1 inputs, although only one of the former can charge other devices at up to 140W.

That port selection is rounded out with 2 type-A ports, just 1 DisplayPort 1.4, an Ethernet jack and even 1 USB type-B port. Legion's latest miniLED monitor has been announced at a valuation of 4,699 yuan (~US$655), yet has been discounted already to 2,999 yuan (~US$418) on its release to China.
